Auray and surroundings, Carnac, La Trinité

Auray and its surroundings offer you a range of discoveries!

On the land side, Auray offers two faces, the upper town with its houses and buildings of character organized around its many squares and the lower town of the port of St Goustan, with its beautiful old houses in blond granite and white or half-timbered walls and its charming cobbled streets. The quays are lively with the pleasant terraces of the cafés and restaurants. Discover the megalithic sites, the mausoleum of Cadoudal and the hiking trails of Crac'h.

On the sea side, you will enjoy the cruises with the descent of the river towards the Islands of the Gulf of Morbihan, or the paddle or kayak trips on the rivers and the gulf, the magnificent beaches of Locmariaquer.

THE AURAY RIVER

Changes with the tides, sometimes narrowing or widening revealing sheltered anchorages and large coves. At the bottom of the river on the right, we discover the Gulf of Locmariaquer facade, its port and its oyster farms. The tip of Kerpenhir marks the entrance to the Gulf. On the Quiberon Bay side, a change of scenery with the large beaches of the cliff, and in the distance behind the small wood, that of Saint Pierre.

LA TRINITE-SUR-MER

the “Mecca” of sailing. All the best-known sailors have passed through there, either on a stopover or in their home port. Eric TABARLY built the Pen Duick II at the Costantini Shipyard in 1963. Today, these are the giant multihulls, these large birds of the sea that can be admired in turn moored at the large quay in front of the harbor master's office. Major regattas are organized each year: the Spi, the Tour de Belle-Ile, and out of season, winter training animate the quays on weekends. There is also the path that starts behind the Nautical Club to follow the beaches of the harbor to the tip of Kerbihan before joining Kervillen Beach.
